Position Description

The Business Analyst role bridges the gap between IT and business areas by analyzing business processes and translating project objectives into fully defined business requirements that will become the basis of an actionable project plan. The Business Analyst will manage to the SDLC project phases and schedule to ensure deliverables are completed on-time, identify areas of improvement, and deliver functional recommendations to executives and project stakeholders across multiple lines of business.

Essential Functions of Position (Major Accountabilities) *

• Elicits requirements from business and technical stakeholders, documents and validates captured requirements through a formal statement of work
• Collaborates with necessary business and technical resources to determine proposed project level of effort estimates and obtains approval from project sponsor(s).
• Under the supervision of a project manager maintains the project plan with key milestones identified and tracking the planned to actual task start/stop dates to ensure the project stays on time and within budget.
• Develops test cases to validate requirements against as built design
• Executes test cases and documents the results; works with the development team to remediate identified defects.
• Participates in project implementations following all necessary change control procedures
• Reports to different levels of management on progress, issues and risk throughout the project lifecycle
• Performs project close out activities to ensure approvals and documentation is archived
• Facilitates and documents key decisions made in project meetings and problem-solving sessions
• Performs a post-implementation review to ensure that all project goals were met and all activities completed
• Manages multiple concurrent initiatives of various scale and priority levels across multiple lines of business
• Participates in research/resolution of day to day production support items that arise as part of the normal course of day to day business.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience Required for Position (Degrees, Languages, Computer Skills, etc.)

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree plus equivalent experience, required
• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project or equivalent
• Accomplished organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills at all levels
• Ability to work with Information Technology, Development, and Business users as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
